What's the difference between a Basic Cremation Service and an Unattended Cremation Service?

Our basic cremation service is what you would expect from a cremation funeral service. It involves a private funeral service and/or memorial service, but instead of a burial, the deceased is cremated. The order of the cremation and service is up to you.

An Unattended Cremation Service, or direct cremation, is simply the cremation itself with no frills or add-ons, leaving your loved one’s ashes with you. You’re free to run a private cremation service on your own terms or make your own funeral arrangements. Direct cremations are a lot more affordable for this reason.

What happens in a cremation to the coffin?

The coffin is placed in the cremator, a furnace designed specifically to cremate human remains. The temperature of the furnace is around 840-980 °C, reducing organics to ashes, including the coffin. We usually use a lightweight coffin for cremations, one that burns easily so the process can go ahead smoothly. Once complete, the ashes are usually collected in an urn which can be returned to you.
