Traditional Funerals – Burial Service

A traditional funeral is your standard funeral in a more traditional style. Often they follow a set structure, with a visitation or viewing for the family and close friends, followed by a formal service, and then a graveside service. Many families choose to start with this traditional structure and then change it to fit their needs, with a memorial service or something that more closely aligns with their loved one. A viewing gives you and your family the opportunity to spend time with your loved one in the company of close friends and family before the funeral service. Many viewings are open casket, but closed casket can be requested as well. Kingston Funerals offers viewings as part of our Traditional Funerals package at no extra cost, allowing you to choose whether to have one or not.

Absolutely! While traditional funerals are typically known as Christian style funerals, Kingston Funerals understands that different religions have special requirements for their ceremonies. Your funeral director can help you plan a funeral service that honours your loved one’s life and memory in the way that’s right for you and your family, according to your customs.

We do offer cremation for traditional funerals, as well as standalone cremation. You’re free to structure the funeral service to have a viewing and funeral service. Your funeral director will take care of things with the crematorium to ensure everything runs smoothly.
