Sadly, we have had to say goodbye to both of my parents over the last 16 months and again turned to Kingston Funerals to handle all of the arrangements. From the first phone call to the final burial, on both occasions the love, support and attention to detail that was displayed was at a level that we could have only dreamed of. We are eternally grateful!
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the team at Kingston Funerals for when you really need someone.

Everything that they said they would do went perfectly, and to the schedule that they said would happen.
Throughout we were kept informed of progress.
This is the second time Kingston Funerals have helped us through this "hour of need" and both experiences have been excellent.

Thank you to all involved and especially, Jamie, for the compassionate care you took in organising the funeral for my mother who passed away on Christmas Day 2025. The challenges of organising the church service, the committal ceremony and then the catering arrangements for family and friends were managed with great sensitivity and skill. Your professionalism helped us through a very difficult time.
Kind regards,
Linda
The arrangements for our beloved family member were complex and not easy to coordinate, yet the team guided us with compassion and clarity throughout.
In particular, our Funeral Director Harley showed exceptional care and consideration for our family’s needs. We are truly grateful for the dignity and kindness shown and would highly recommend Kingston Funerals.
Kindest regards,
Daniela
Just wanted to send my heartfelt thank you for all your assistance with the funeral of my late Mother.
Your professionalism and empathy shown from start to finish was greatly appreciated at this difficult time and we are truly appreciative.
Thank you for your support, care and understanding from start to finish your team showed excellent service.
Kind regards
Tracy
She kept reassuring me that I could call any time and made feel that she was part of my family. At the service where I met with Dennis he was fantastic, everyone commented after of how good he read the eulogy. He also was invaluable leading up to the service, giving me ideas on how to write the eulogy. I cannot recommend them more highly. They were very respectful and didn't rush the process. It was a relief to leave it to the professionals.
Thank you so much and if I need to arrange any other funerals in the future I would not hesitate to call them.
Kind regards
Deirdre
Your care and gentle guidance leading into the service, ensured the navigating and preparing for the day and the service itself caused us no stress, and the support and direction from you on the day was of great comfort to us all. From our first meeting, we knew we were in good hands!
With much appreciation and best wishes.

Their meticulous attention to detail and sensitivity ensured a flawless and simply perfect service for my dad today.
Junior and his team provided immeasurable support, empathy and kindness. Junior's calm demeanor and reassuring presence were deeply appreciated.
I highly recommend Kingston Funerals; their outstanding service made a challenging time much more bearable. Our gratitude knows no bounds.
The service itself was heartfelt and we have had such positive feedback. For the younger generation (and some older guests), they had never attended a funeral where the RSL took a part. Dad would have been so proud.
Also, thank you to your hearse driver who did a great job.
All in all, the occasion went very well in every aspect.
We recently had the need to engage Kingston Funerals. I really must say they were excellent!
From the first meeting with Jess to the recommendation of a celebent who fitted our brief perfectly (Sandra) to the service, it was seamless and the team at Kingston were so helpful, professional, warm and caring.
Huge thank you to Jess, Sandra and the team.
I would recommend Kingston Funerals.
I hope to not need their services in the future but would have no issue in engaging with them again.
all participants in the Ceremony worked very efficiently. There were over 60 people in attendance. I've got comments, that all was very touching, warm, and well-organized.
I'd like to express my gratitude to everybody and especially to Jess.
Thank you Harley and Kingston for making a very difficult thing that much easier with your care.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a list of the Best Funeral Directors Melbourne?
The best funeral director is the one that best caters to your needs. Funerals are a stressful time for any family and making sure your needs are met should be the first priority of any funeral director. If you’re comparing funeral directors, there are a lot of websites online that will allow you to. However, everyone is different and the only way you’re going to know if a funeral director is right for you is by talking to them directly. The team at Kingston Funerals is available 24/7 to discuss your needs. As a leading funeral home in Melbourne, we are committed to helping people, going to great lengths to make sure you can remember your loved ones in a way that’s right for you. We have several funeral directors on our team. Contact us and we’ll help you find a funeral director that’s right for you and provide you with more information on Melbourne funeral services.
Do I Need to Place a Deposit?
It is not mandatory to place a deposit for our services. However, payment in full must be completed before the funeral service date. If you would like, you can pay a deposit upfront to secure the arrangements and then settle the remaining balance closer to the service date.
We aim to make this process as flexible and stress-free as possible during this difficult time. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about payment options or timelines.
What Do All These Funeral Terms Mean?
If this is your first experience with funeral directors, the whole situation can be a bit daunting. We have a range of terms we use to talk about different parts of the service or planning process. Each will be something you have to think about at some stage, whether you plan it yourself or ask our team to take care of it. Some of the more common terms we use include
Funeral Home:
A building where funerals are planned and held. Although it’s not completely standard, the term funeral home is sometimes used interchangeably with a funeral parlour or mortuary. You’ll find a lot of funeral homes Melbourne advertising themselves under a range of these terms.
Funeral Venues:
Slightly different from funeral homes, funeral venues refers to the location where the funeral service or memorial will take place. They can range from a large, ornate building with a capacity of hundreds to a local park, or even just somewhere special to you and your loved one.
Funeral Director:
A funeral director is the person in charge of the funeral service. They manage and oversee all funerals that occur there as well as any other responsibilities such as cremations, burials, and anything else involved with the service itself.
Funeral Celebrant:
A funeral celebrant is a professional who organises funeral ceremonies, manages them and provides support throughout the process. We have several celebrants on our team, allowing you to choose the one that resonates most with your situation.
Funeral Parlour:
Funeral parlour is another name for a funeral home. The name comes from a time when funerals were held in the parlour of the family home, before the mid-19th century. Many funeral parlours Melbourne are the same as funeral homes. Funeral Parlours provide funeral services, including viewing rooms, chapels, and arrangements for burials or cremations. As a leading funeral parlour in Melbourne, Kingston Funerals offers compassionate support to families during their time of grief, guiding them through the process with care and respect.
What Should I Do When A Death Occurs?
It can be difficult to know where to start when a death occurs in the family, however, at Kingston Funerals, we are here to help with the grieving process and funeral service. From transferring your loved one into our care, choosing a funeral home to organising the funeral, we have all the information you need right here on our website, or feel free to call us and we will step through the entire process with you.
What's the Difference Between a Funeral Home and a Funeral Parlour?
As far as providing funeral services goes, there is no difference between Melbourne funeral homes and funeral parlours. Funeral parlours and funeral homes are places where the deceased can be prepared for the funeral, and you can find the services you need to plan and carry out a funeral. As the leading funeral homes in Melbourne, we offer a range of burial, funeral and cremation services. If you’re looking for funeral parlours in Melbourne, Kingston Funerals can provide you with all the services you need and more.
What to do before, during and after the funeral?
When a death occurs in the family there are a lot of decisions that need to be made quite quickly. Such as whether your loved one wanted to be buried or cremated, how soon you would like to have the funeral, where you will hold the service and whether a Celebrant or Clergyperson is required. There are also considerations about what celebratory aspects you would like to include in the service, such as slideshows, flowers and order of service booklets.
What options and venues does Kingston Funerals offer for funeral services in Melbourne?
Choosing the right venue for a funeral is an important decision. Kingston Funerals offers access to a wide range of funeral homes and venues in Melbourne, including our own funeral venue in Cheltenham. For those seeking less traditional services, we can accommodate various settings such as parks, beaches, chapels, and gardens—any location that holds special significance to your family. If you’re unsure about the best venue for your needs, our funeral director will personally assist you in finding the perfect one.
