Choosing a funeral venue for your loved one’s service
For the last 25 years, we have been helping Melbourne families remember and celebrate the lives of their loved one’s life in unique ways through the planning of a funeral or memorial service. With access to many funeral venues in Melbourne, as well as our own, we can help you find the right one.
A crucial part of this planning is to find and select the right venue for your needs. When choosing funeral venues, there are several considerations to keep in mind. These include:
- How many people do you need to accommodate?
- Did your loved one have a preference for the setting? (Church, chapel, function centre, garden setting, beach, etc.)
- Do you want to hold the service in one location, or are you happy to travel to the cemetery or crematorium after the service?
- Do you have any special requirements like onsite catering, video projection, room for musicians or a specific time in mind for the service?
- Is the venue easy to find and is there enough parking?
These answers will help you identify what you need in a funeral venue, and they will enable us to help you find the most fitting venue that suits your needs while also accommodating the wishes of your loved one who has passed.
Our Cheltenham Chapel
The Kingston Funerals Chapel is located at 305 Warrigal Road in Cheltenham (next to our Head Office). The Chapel seats 60 people comfortably and features state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment with a spacious foyer for friends and family to gather before or after the service. The Chapel also has a reflective garden, providing a peaceful outlook from the Chapel and a place of refuge to have a quiet moment.
If you wish to view your loved one, we can arrange for you to have access to the Chapel before the service, either the day of or the night before, for you and your family to use.
Kingston Funerals Head Office
Our office also features two arrangement rooms, which are equipped for your comfort while you meet with our staff to arrange the funeral service of your loved one. However, understanding the challenges of grief and busy work schedules, we are also happy to meet families in the comfort of their own home for planning.
